Queen Margot

Based on a novel by Alexandre Dumas and set to the backdrop of the late 16th century French Wars of Religion, Queen Margot tells the story of the Catholic princess Margot who is married to the Protestant Henri of Navarre as part of a religious peace settlement. When the most prominent French Protestants gather in Paris to celebrate the marriage, Margot's mother Catherine de Medici arranges to have them massacred.
